Gary Neville has played down “ridiculous” claims of Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah being the best Premier League player since Thierry Henry.
[color=#E90834]www sbobet888[/color] Salah scored his 23rd goal of the season on Saturday as Liverpool beat West Ham United, temporarily drawing him level with Harry Kane as the Premier League’s top scorer this season.
His 20th with his left foot, the Egyptian became the first Premier League player to do so in a single season. It lead TV presenter and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan to put forward the suggestion Salah is the best Premier League player since Henry.
This claim was very quickly shut down by former Manchester United defender Neville, who believes the Egyptian would not crack a top 10 list.
His reply prompted one of his followers to ask for his 10 best players since Henry, to which he replied: “Not sure but [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Eden] Hazard, [Kevin] De Bruyne, [David] Silva, Yaya [Toure], [Luis] Suarez, [Sergio] Aguero, [Diego] Costa, [Vincent] Kompany, [Robin] Van Persie are ten and I’ve not started thinking.”
Just two minutes later, he continued his list adding Kane, Carlos Tevez, Didier Drogba and David de Gea, before retweeting suggestions of Gareth Bale, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.
And the discussion did not end there as Neville bit back at claims from Morgan over his credentials, following a unsuccessful spell as Valencia manager.
“Beating Arsenal very well for 20 years still gives me some experience to spot he’s not in top 10 since Henry,” he added.
“He’s fantastic but best [Premier League] player since Henry!! Ridiculous.”
