Hi All
Sorry to write in English on a Thai forum… I have been looking around since I bought my WellcoM A88 3 weeks ago, but I have not been able to find a tutorial in English to root my A88.
I am new to Android, and all I have found on Internet is in Thai so i am very afraid to make a mistake and brick my phone….
If anyone could explain clearly how to root my phone and load an alternative ROM, I would be very grateful.

then use google translate.
There is no custom rom available for A88 for the time being, only root access and app2sd

Thanks for your answer…I have found this post from s.nitcharee24, but if you try to use google translate you will see my problem, much too confusing … As I said I am new to Android , and this looks too complicated without proper English instructions…

this is the easiest way to root android 2.1 (i don’t know, what’s your wellcome a88 version?)
follow the topic: http://www.droidsans.com/how-to-root-wellcom-a88-eclair-in-just-1-min
1. open browser and type link : “http://bit.ly/a88root21”
to download file named “UniversalAndroot-1.6.apk” into mobile
2. install file named “UniversalAndroot-1.6.apk”
3. when finish, open the app named “Universal Androot”
then choose “Superuser for Android 2.0 ~ 2.2” and press button “root”
wait until install complete
*** Do not forget press “allow” too ***
turn off and turn on, once time.
