AN UPGRADE is now available for HTC Flyer owners to Google’s Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system.
The INQUIRER just checked for new software on the office Flyer and discovered that an update to Android 3.2 Honeycomb is available. The over the air update is 211MB so you’ll want to make sure that you use a WiFi or cable connection for the download.
HTC warns, “Due to differences between Android operating system versions your homescreen layout will be returned to HTC default as a result of this update.”

A big change will happen to the HTC Flyer due to the update apart from having a different version of Android. The Flyer has two sets of touch sensitive buttons for navigation but these will be disabled once Honeycomb is installed. This is because Honeycomb uses onscreen buttons instead.
We were sceptical about whether the Flyer would get an upgrade since HTC had developed a tablet version of its Sense overlay specifically for it. This doesn’t appear to have put HTC off however, and it has gone for it.
Of course, Android 3.2 Honeycomb isn’t the latest version now that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is out, but an upgrade is still an upgrade. Our Flyer is the WiFi and 3G version and we’re waiting for HTC to confirm that the upgrade is also available for other models.
