I went back to TME 2011 Sunday afternoon and they had a long presentation with a guy named Nui. He had the A99 hooked up to a big screen TV through the HDMI cable. The HDMI cable is a nice feature. Anyway he said that Wellcom is planning on upgrading the A99 to Honeycomb 2.3 in the future. Since the phone is going to be also be sold by T-Mobile USA in a few months I am sure getting Honeycomb on it is a sure thing. Plus I bet there will be a Cyanogen mod for this device since T-Mobile will sell tens of thousands or more of this device.

Also, they were selling off the demo units in open boxes. They sold five of them Sunday afternoon while I was there at the end of Nui’s presentation. They still charged 9,900 baht for these phones that were extensively used during the show; but had no problem finding buyers. They didn’t tell people they were demo units but it was obvious as the boxes had already been opened and they ran out well before this.
