Obama rejects being Clinton No 2 CNN Political Ticker

(CNN) – Sen. Barack Obama Monday flatly rejected suggestions that he would be a vice presidential running mate for Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Both Clinton, Obama’s rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, and her husband, former President Clinton, have suggested a joint Clinton-Obama ticket – with Obama in the second slot.

“Senator Clinton is fighting hard. She’s tenacious. I respect her for that. She is working hard to win the nomination. But I want everybody to be absolutely clear. I’m not running for vice president. I’m running for president of the United States of America,” Obama told supporters during a rally in Columbus,Son Of Mars For Sale, Mississippi.Thank you Sen. Obama for not accepting. This is too sick to be funny. and to make this even more insane. He has to be the good old boy and reqlinquish the top position to her for the sake of the party. Pleaseeeeeeee! . I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. The reason the Republicans win is they stick together no matter what. Dems are so stupid they will bite off their nose to spite their face. That's why we will never win. Have a backbone for once and show that we can stand together no matter what. At least we can return to the party of principles.March 10,Jordan Son Of Mars Black Red, 2008 03:56 pm at 3:56 pm |Amazing how the youth of today preaches about the Clintons with pages from the 'Faux' news book of lies written during the reign of king Dubya. They choose to ignore the prosperity of the 90s, the balanced budget and the high regard which the US had on the international scene. Even the repub's worst efforts (which co$t the taxpayer$ million$) at 'exposing' crooked business dealings by the Clintons came up with nothing more than some hanky panky. Now we are stuck in an unpopular and losing war on two fronts that NOONE can end (not even Obie, by admission of his own top advisors) a collapsing economy, record ga$ prices, record deficit and americans are subjected to monstrous collective hatred even among our one-time allies. To fly the empty banner of 'change' as if to imply that the Bush disasters and the Clinton prosperity are somehow one and the same is a ridiculous lie created and perpetuated by the Obama campaign with the approval and consent of its figurehead. Wake up people and see the deception fo the Obama campaign for what it truly is!March 10, 2008 03:58 pm at 3:58 pm |Way to go soon-to-be President Obama! Clinton has spread lies about you throughout the campaign while her surrogates have contacted Canadien offficials pertaining to Mrs. Clinton's false rhetoric about NAFTA. I am completely fed up with the spin machine and every Clinton supporters who refuses to acknowledge this women's dirty past. We can carry that sort of baggage into the nomination process when most republicans despise her, indepedents would vote McCain if Obama's not on the ticket, and new democrats would simply lose all ambitions to participate in the nomination process. Okay it wasn’t the Clintons asking for Obama to become VP. The press was asking a staff member if it was up for consideration. Ironically the press CNN especially is making this a HUGE deal to deceive the American public. Maybe because it is a slow news day. Even here folks have not completely red the news and truly listened or comprehended who said and did what. And when the public gets on forums (like this one) and starts attacking thier opponent on illegitimate grounds this in turn causes an ‘echo chamber effect’ and all participating start believing the the din of thier own noise.

Name calling isn’t attractive from either camp and it confuses the issues. Hilliary isn’t just grabbing power at any cost she is campaigning. If she were a man she wouldn’t be considered crazy or a (w)itch. Obama isn’t a dim witted idiot, he’s just using his strongest talent public speaking to try to get elected.

Most on this board need to ‘grow up’ Obama and Clinton supporters alike.

Another question: Why do people use Hillary’s first name and Barack’s last name. Is there a mannerly way to refer to both of them that is equalizing?

That’s not factual. If Hillary loses the nomination. The BIG states will follow suit. It will be political suicide for these states to go against the voices of the people (red or black). She’s won the big states, but big deal, she’s still behind in overall numbers. She clearly won’t win MS, NC, Puerto Rico, AND could possibly lose PA if she continues down the same path she’s been on. So spin it any way you want, but until the FAT lady sings, and right now, it’s not signing Hillary’s name.

If you are a politicians, YOU don’t go against the vote of the people in your state. If you take Hillary off the Democratic ticket, then it would be ludicrus to vote against the popular vote. People are SICK of the same old crap and SICK of same business as usuall!! That’s a fact.

We need to move this country forward and stop focusing on the “PAST”. and Sen. Clinton needs to be reminded that THIS race is not about HER, it’s about what’s BEST for this country and right now that is clearly NOT her.

Why should Obama settle for the past, when clearly he’s looking to the future?

Another political manuever by the Clinton machine. First try to damage your opponent then make the inference that in a few months you can be a great VP. What a crock. Don’t the Clinton’s realize that most americans are smart enought o see through this type of campaigning. She is in no position to make such an offer anyway. It’s laughable. She will not have the most pledged delegates by the end of this process and she is doing everything she can to change the rules. Quite frankly I don’t blame her.
