The intensity and frequency of major natural disasters has increased from 100 per year in the 1970s to more than 500 per year today, according to the Harvard School of Public Health, and small to mid-sized businesses don’t have the resources on their own to recover in a timely manner from most disasters, even seemingly small ones.
